Sales and Business development manager (New Business)

Full Time, Tokyo, Japan

Department: Sales and Marketing department

Report line: Direct report to General Manager, IPSTAR Japan, and in direct repot to Manager, Technical Support

As a Sales and Business Development Manager in IPSTAR Japan, the candidate will be responsible for building IPSTAR Japan’s new business by forging into new accounts, based on building an extensive network of industry contacts. The candidate will be accountable for building relevant stakeholder relationships with customers and industry partners to ensure cross selling opportunities are maximized. You will be working collaboratively with other members of the team in Japan and headquarter as well as colleagues from other areas of the business including logistic, legal, marketing and operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Developing new revenue opportunities for company
  • Building a productive pipeline and manage each phase of the sales process.
  • Building and developing strategic partnerships with both our strategic partners and other businesses in our ecosystem.
  • Being a trusted advisor for our customers by applying a consultative selling approach based on taking the time to properly understand our customers and their challenges/opportunities.
  • Formulate sales plan to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Set and manage client expectations while consulting with each client for best practices.
  • Managing and control pricing and contractual issues.
  • Be able to follow company sale strategies and directions.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant business development work experience selling digital services to target markets
  • Knowledge or experience in Satellite communication or Telecommunication network
  • Knowledge or experience in satellite image and/or earth observation
  • Knowledge or experience in data analytic or data science
  • Business skills, including sale & marketing, finance and accountancy
  • Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed sale targets
  • Team working skills and a collaborative approach to work and always show contribution to company
  • Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintaining high quality customer service
  • Ability to multi-task with organizational skills
  • Ability to handle more than one product line or market segment
  • A flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Bachelor degree or higher degree

Report line: Direct report to General Manager, IPSTAR Japan

As a Business Development Manager in IPSTAR Japan, the candidate will be responsible for building IPSTAR Japan’s business by forging into existing and new accounts, based on building an extensive network of industry contacts. The candidate will be accountable for building relevant stakeholder relationships with customers , sales channel and industry partners to ensure cross selling opportunities are maximized. The candidate will be working collaboratively with other members of the team in Japan and headquarter as well as colleagues from other areas of the business including logistic, legal, marketing and operations.

  • Selling existing product to new customers
  • Developing new revenue opportunities for company
  • Building a productive pipeline and manage each phase of the sales process.
  • Building and developing strategic partnerships with both our strategic partners and other businesses in our ecosystem.
  • Being a trusted advisor for our partners and customers by applying a consultative selling approach based on taking the time to properly understand our customers and their challenges/opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge or experience of channel sales, high touch sales and direct sales
  • Knowledge or experience in Satellite communication or Telecommunication network
  • Aggressivenes for selling a productfor selling a product
